I found this book to be a well rounded book in giving some solid principles and ideas in raising children. You may be affirmed in his presentation and may see some cracks in the wall that need fortified. Dr. Moore deals with rites of passage, significance, values, consequences, growing gap between puberty and marriage, contracts, communication, and affirmation. It is quite a list, but I found the book an easy read.
I would give one caveat to this book. Even though you do everything right, it does not necessarily mean that you will not encounter difficulty in raising children. Some children go astray and make horrible decisions.
I recommend this book to young parents and for children pastors (maybe even youth pastors).
