"Leading Life - Changing
Small Groups"
Bill Donahue
In my library I have a number of small group manuals. This particular book is a good primer for those interested in developing a small group ministry, but I find that it is not a stand out among others that I have. It is a very practical step by step approach and would be a good addition to other books, but not a stand alone manual.
I think it would be important to have a good grasp on a philosophical and theological understanding of small group ministry before utilizing this book to cookie cutter a new ministry that is working in other churches. A great book to read in conjunction with this one might be “The Connecting Church” by Randy Frazee which I reviewed earlier. I believe there are some great principles and necessary steps to small groups, but it must be well thought through and indigenous.
